Pius Heinz from Germany is not only the winner of the WSOP main event but he is the first German to ever take the prize. The prize for winning the World Series of Poker this year is 8.72M. It was Pius Heinz and Martin Stazsko in heads up where the twenty-two year old student won with ace high, king on the final hand.
This year’s WSOP was held in the beautiful Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Before it got down to heads up between Martin Staszko from the Czech Republic and Pius Heinz of Germany, Ben Lamb of the US was into four hands of play before being eliminated. Martin Staszko took a second place prize of 5.43M and Ben Lamb took home a measly 4.02M.
